New Loudoun High School Site Location Proposed

The Loudoun County School Board voted on October 26, 2009, to approve the purchase of property located in and around Stone Ridge for the location of HS-7 and a future elementary school. The high school will be located in Stone Ridge West.

Twenty-three acres of the school site will be located in the Stone Ridge community with the remaining seventy-four acres comprised of an assemblage of parcels situated along Goshen Road. Access to the school facilities is planned via Northstar Boulevard (Relocated Route 659).
The proximity to Stone Ridge and surrounding communities, accessibility from Route 50, Tall Cedars and Braddock Road make this an attractive site from a transportation perspective. The fact that all the utilities are immediately available also makes it an attractive site from a construction perspective.

The high school is planned to be open for the 2012-2013 school year.

Since the beginning in 2001, Stone Ridge has been a supporter of our school partners. Recently Stone Ridge hosted the 4th Annual 5K Race for Education. The race has raised over $75,000 that has been distributed to schools throughout Dulles South for various school projects.

A Van Metre master-planned community, Stone Ridge is home to Mercer Middle School and Arcola Elementary. And in 2011, will be home to the Loudoun County Gum Spring Library.
